Accepted Answer

It depends on the coach. Generic interview coaching teaches scripts. Coaching from someone with actual recruiting and hiring-committee experience — like René Cole's background placing candidates at Amazon, Oracle, and other top companies — teaches you how you're actually being evaluated, which is a different (and more useful) thing.

Can a career coach help scientists and PhDs move into industry?

Yes — this is one of the most common transitions we support. The biggest obstacle usually isn't the science, it's translating deep technical or research work into language a commercial hiring panel can evaluate and value appropriately.
